Question about the 128GB HTC U11 version

oh man mine just shipped but that may be a good thing!

I originally had a Oneplus 5, but then I returned the O5 and went for a HTC u11 and I decided that I really liked Oneplus 5 better because of the OS so i returned the HTC U11 and went back to the O5.

I was happy until I saw that the U11 6gb/128 version was available in the US for pre-order. So impulse buy, I bought the HTCu11 and returned the O5. I finally got all my returns back from Oneplus and HTC

Last night, I decided that I am going to buy the O5 one more time and stick with it and cancel the pre-order for the U11. I sent HTC an email because I didn't have a password for the order to cancel it on their website.

My O5 shipped in the afternoon and I finally received an email to cancel my HTC U11 order. Well when I went to go do that it was in shipping process and I recieved an email from fedex that it was shipped.

LOL!!!

I'am going to return the O5 and stick with the HTC U11, better phone overall

Till you decide to return it and keep the OP5 instead. :p . kidding :-)

Mine shipped...Should have it Friday. Just sent back my 3rd 64GB Version. Returned the first due to overheating, refused the 2nd order because I changed my mind on Solar Red and re-ordered Amazing Silver, then found out the 6GB version was coming out, so I returned that one and ordered the 6GB.

What was the total cost with tax?

I'm just waiting to see if/when Amazon carries it before making my final decision. Since HTC is shipping it, I'm hoping Amazon will be soon after.

Got notified earlier today that mine has shipped, and (I'm a little skeptical here) should be delivered by 1:30 tomorrow. I'm in Toronto. Unfortunately it's gonna get here before the Cases I ordered arrive, and it isn't leaving the house until its dressed. The screen protector arrived yesterday.

I really wanted to pull the trigger and get the 128gb version. HTC Canada is selling it for $924.38, which is only $25.38 more than the 64gb versions?! Wow! Not sure how much more the 128gb is in the US compared to the 64gb versions but this is a great deal. Now if it were also available in Solar Red; then I'd pull that trigger!

Let us know how you like it when it arrives. BTW, who's your carrier here in Canada? I'm with Rogers.

Just a question for a noob like me... What is the main difference if you have a 64Gb with 64gb sd card over 128gb... Other than ram?

Not everyone likes SD cards because they are not that performant compared to the internal flash storage. Personally, I never use SD cards and like to have 64 GB minimum internal storage and anything above that is great. That's one reason why I didn't like G6 this year (only 32 GB and SD 821)

I just received delivery notification, so I'm looking forward to opening my present when I get home! I'm with Telus, and I'll let you know how I like it. Btw, I called HTC Canada customer service before the 128 gb version was posted, and the rep gave me a $75.00 promo code. The 128gb versions price seems to fluctuate daily (I think it's tied to the current rate of exchange) and when I ordered, it was $909.40 less the $75, so I got it for $835 Canadian. Amazing silver wasn't my first choice, but for that price, I'm sure I can live with it!

Slightly slower read and write times on the SD card. I am a huge fan of the cards. I keep all of my music and pics on the card, but I always want more storage internally if it's available. The other beauty of this model is the 6GB RAM, which is arguably more important than the extra 64gb ROM.

Spectacular and $75.00 additional credit: Score!

You and me both. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking on my return window.

Starting to feel like Amazon is not going to stock it. I don't understand the limit of the good phone to silver only either. They should have just released the better version from the start.

I'm guessing it's just supply challenges at this point, which would explain both Amazon not carrying it yet and HTC only selling one model. Maybe when we see HTC selling all the colors in the 128GB version we'll see Amazon start carrying it as well. As far as why Silver, maybe that's the more popular version?

I'm still on the fence about whether the 128GB is worth the $80 to me. My wife will probably inheret this phone anyways, and she's be more than happy with 4GB/64GB. So, if Amazon doesn't get it very soon, I might go ahead and pull the trigger and save some money. I'm definitely not comfortable buying directly from HTC at this point given all of the problems people have been having with returns (and the cost of return, which is always a risk).
