Question about the Apps icon I've seen with a G next to it...

That is when you want the apps listed...I don't see it on my phone. I'm using Action Launcher so doesn't matter but just intrigued.
 
Mine is just there. Try switching back to the stock lg home launcher and see if it shows up.
 
It's called "Google in apps" its a Nougat specific feature I believe. A really handy app too. It basically can search almost everything on your phone. Search for apps, contacts, text message conversations, your g-mail, through the gallery app, hell even remotes you have saved in the quick remote app, chrome history/bookmars/tabs, google play music etc etc. Also I think app developers can update their apps to allow Google in apps to search the contents of it.
