I just rooted my phone for the first time last week and I'm loving it. Since I'm new to the whole rooting scene should I unroot to do the update or should I be alright to update it?

Same questions here. I even have deleted some apps like skype and vz navigator but other than that i'm still running stock 2.2. Am i going to have to restore those apps before i can update or update as is?

I think they may be referring to the newly announced "Software Enhancement".....whatever it is. I had the same question and posted it in the hacks/roms forum above.

I'm pretty sure if your rooted you will not be getting the update but I could be wrong. After looking at the list of items being updated I wouldn't worry to much about it and would never give up root for any update. All of these updates will be on custom ROMs soon if they aren't on them all ready. If you haven't tried flashing ROMs I would recommend looking into it.

Yeah after posting above I looked a little further into what is in the "enhancement" and it looks like Verizon's just pushing more crap onto the phone that i would strip out anyway. Just gonna ride it out with no update.

I must have missed wthe news hat software enhancements?

Rooting A New Incredible

I am also new to the forums and just spending time reading and learning about Androids owning a BlackBerry Tour right now but not for long.

My question is since i am going to be a new Android owner and see manyu competent people on here that can help me or actually root my phone for me it seems that there is so much more to just rooting... many other things that go along also.

So should I just leave things alone and leave the phone stock or let someone in the forum help me root the phone?
Should I learn and get use to Androids and what I like or don't and then after I spend some time with it, then possibly go ahead and have it rooted?

Any advice from anyone on here would be welcome along with best ways to root and even suggestions on the 1 click method I hear about or any other help you all want to throw my way.

Thank you all in advance. :D
