Question for early adopters

This is for those who had the ear piece mesh defect, did essential replace the device or did they have you send it in for repair.

I ask because mine is literally falling out in pieces, essential is telling me the only option available is to send the device in for repair. This is not an option seeing as how this is my only device. Due to my job I cannot be with out a phone for any extended period of time.

The question is did the repair or replace the device for you.
 
Some have said they got a replacement phone. They just replaced the ear piece material on my first PH-1 that had the defective grill. You can see if they'll do an advance exchange which will require hold on a credit card until you send back the original phone.

I have the Telus variant and they swapped it out with a replacement in a few days. They also offered to lend me a phone while it was being done. I believe what they sent me back was a refurbished unit though, not the original one repaired.
