Question. Is this phone perfect?

There hasn't been any OTA updates to tweak or improve this phone since its release. I believe most other carriers have pushed some improvements. Did Verizon perfect this phone right out of the box?

I am very happy with mine so far no complaints. But i am going to go with Verizon ALWAYS is the last provider to release updates. So if we see any updates and fixes all non Verizon carriers will get them 6 months before we do.

Most of the updates for the other carriers were to only remove universal search that came about from the Apple/Samsung lawsuit. Some new Verizon SIII's already have the update, so it should hit in tbenext few months.

The only thing they need to fix is that little eye at the top that is suppose to keep the screen from shutting off.this phone is great.

I am on Sprint and we had a couple updates to fix a couple small things...

But with that said, if friends told me this was the perfect phone and I would buy one now, I would agree with them at this point in the game and we still have Jelly Bean improvements to look forward to. I would say, of all phones owned, It is perfect.

I read that those updates that took off that search are being updated again to put it back on!
But anyways no I find no real issues! The eye thing really doesn't work that great but not a big deal!

No phone is perfect :). For me, perfect = latest hardware + latest software + latest design.

I am happy with the phone, but will be even happier when they do something to improve the radios in this thing.

Like I had said, with Sprint, the Smart Stay (eye screen thing) got updated and works twice as good as it did before. I dont think my screen has turned of on me while using it, since the update. Works great now.

I guess im one of the lucky ones for a change . i compare my s3 to my friends razr in a fringe area all the time and its about a wash as to witch one is better . I so far am really loving this phone .

Perfect is a bit of a stretch... but I will say that it is a great phone for the money. I paid full price for it, but for those that got it for $199 on contract , it beats the hell out of the Razr Maxx that was $100 more. Performance has been great, I can count the number of force closes on one hand since I got it back in July. Signal strength has been nothing short of excellent. I have full bars of 4G in areas that my Droid 4 couldn't even maintain it and bounced back and forth to 3G. No Wifi issues either. And the battery life is insanely good, even with heavy usage. Perfect screen size to watch movies, read the Bible, surf the web, play games, I can definitely see myself keeping this phone for awhile. So, is it perfect? No, but it is DAMN close

No. Lack of updates =/= perfection. I love my phone... BUT:

1. Can't use BT with audio out cable plugged in
2. Radios are subject par. Have to cycle wifi to get it to connect numerous times at least 3 times a week.
3. S voice is nearly unless.

Some fixes should be easy, others not so much. Is it a great phone and maybe best Android ATM? Sure.

Perfect? Absolutely not.

When I got the gs3 as a replacement for my htc rezound the verizon rep did say there is a general bug fix update on the way to fix what sounded to be minor issues and she guessed it would be coming out in the next 1-2 months so we will see. The only issue I have had is netflix buffering for time to time while watching causing a error to pop up but restarting whatever you are watching in the app fixes it the error is random.

Where's my wifi toggle Vzw? Morons

Yes, perfect. (I turned off wifi pop up notification and added a simple wifi toggle widget).

You can do almost anything with apps and no root. The stock launcher is great. Customization is great. Functions work very smoothly and reliably. 4glte is FAST. Google cloud, email, and music services blow away apple stuff (and it is all free). What is there to complain about?

That is the only thing keeping it from being perfect for me. Just don't know why a company as big as Samsung can't get the radios right the first time. This thing is 5 to 10 db lower in 4G signal than my Charge was, which means in marginal areas it sucks. Tried the SIM card change, no difference. Been to several Verizon stores and my GSIII has the same signal strength as all the others, so this is just normal for the phone.

The radio in mine is within 2db of the radio in my wife's Razr. I'm fine with it. I don't blame the phone for the poor signal. I blame Verizon.

My phone won't even ring at my house.. My rezound gets 3 bars the SG3 gets 1 at the most and usually.. the data doesn't pick up as good as the rezound either.. The GPS loses signal in my car unless its in the windshield. I'm not very happy with it so far and have had to switch back to the rezound while at home because I've missed some important calls

My GPS connects almost instantly with the satellites and even with only 2 bars I have no problem making or receiving clear calls at home. Possibly you need to have your phone replaced?

Halo Theme. Get one.
Gingerbread is so old now.
The fact that Sammy chose to not update the look of the ui kills me. As does the back button on the right and the damn menu button.
Minor complaints but I just sold my Nexus. Going to miss the stock ui in Jelly Bean/ICS.
