My battery started dying very quickly yesterday. I'm afraid it's the battery, because now it won't sync with my PC. I checked the battery use, and the Cell Standby was the biggest user. So, what exactly is cell standby? Is the radio searching for signal? Just trying to understand what is using the battery. If it's normal, I'll go buy a battery.:(

Batteries should last more than 2 months.

Thanks!

What does your signal strenght like it says in my battery manager that its battery used by cell radio, mines on 4% use

Sent Using TaPaTalk

Signal is -71. The cell standby has been at 36% today. The screen is at 34%, with minimal usage. And I'm on wifi here and at work.

Cell standby and the whole rest of the stats in the battery meter aren't worth a damn. I have spent days recording and analyzing my use patterns and comparing them to the stats and putting it mildly they are useless. Just use the overall charge percentage if you are trying to do anything meaningful. I thought my battery or phone was broke until I got jts clean rom and the difference was night and day. If you have the propensity for roms give it a shot.

Well, that's the problem. I am on a JT kernel, and clean rom. The phone was great Wed, Thursday it died in 8.5 hours.
I may just stop by the Verizon store and try a new battery. This one isn't charging well, and I still can't mount my SD card through the phone.

I am non-rooted, everything pretty much turned off, nothing running in the background - earlier this week my battery life went from two to three days to about 16-18 hours. I am puzzled - I don't know if it is elated to wat's going on for you.
