Question on Desk Clock Alarm

Quick question, there are two options on the bottom of the desk clock. One is a moon with a star, and the other looks like a computer monitor with a clock. Anyone know what the differences are? i currently use the moon/star one when i go to sleep but i still get sound notifications, haven't tried the other for fear of not waking up for work!!!

The one with a moon/star dims the screen. The other puts it into "desk top" mode. Both you will get notifications as far as I'm aware. I normally just hit the desktop mode and let her go~!

one is intended for daytime use and the other for nighttime/overnight. at least that was always my assumption.

Nope. I get the "Slide to Dismiss" screen and it works without issues.

I've actually installed Kaloer Clock from the market, and it also works well. It's got options to choose color and format, and has a setting to come on when you plug it in to charge. It has a built in alarm clock feature, and I've used that in place of the stock alarm, without any inconsistencies. I don't even turn the stock alarm on anymore. Sorry if a bit off topic. But I wanted to suggest it, since it is a much larger display than the stock desk clock provides, and its settings allow you to make it comfortable to view at night.
