What brand and model # of your tv? Are you using a Roku or another streaming device by chance? There are a couple of ways, but these items can make a difference in the options available to you.

I was looking at the actiontec screenbeam 2 mini. Sounds like it would work. $30 at bestbuy

Honestly don't know about this one but for the same price you have the Chromecast 2 which is great and made for Android from Google

Well.....tis the season. Catch a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale on an up to date TV with hdmi inputs and get a version 1 Chromecast. Those things are dirt cheap all over the place.

Why buy version 1. Does it work better?

You really won't notice that much a difference in quality of the video from your phone. I didn't notice a big difference when I went from the first version to the second one. YMMV

I didn't notice a lag with personal videos from the phone, but I did with streaming apps.

You should be fine with version 2. As stated above, the processor is so much better and you shouldn't see a loss of sync at all.

I know you are looking at a cheep chrome cast but you shoud take a look at the mi box at Wal-Mart

It is $69 but is a full blown android tv box with chromecast builtin and is fully licensed by google so it does have the play store and all other apps from google. I own this and i can say for the money i am very satisfied with it. It runs smooth.
Also as an added bonus you can install games on it and depending on the game most run realy good. All though it is no nvidia shield tv.

I'd stick with a name brand product. The Amazon Fire Stick will work, you do need wifi available the first time you pair the phone and the Amazon Fire Stick but after that you do not need an internet connection/wifi. The new one with the voice remote is $40 at bestbuy.
