Stock ROM ATM, I am about to pull the trigger however I am a bit cautious as a buddy of mine (iPhone lover) explained that if I root I will never be able to "Undo it" Meaning may be able to go back to stock but If I were to take it into Sprint for any reason the warranty will be voided because Sprint will be able to tell that I rooted the phone.

Lastly I was going to use UNrevoked and I already downloaded the ROM Mananger clockworkMOD manager or something like that, I just want to root and let the rom manager do all the work (yeah I can do it the hard way I just don't want to ;) Any advise would be appreciated. I want to try the latest CyanogenMod, and a couple of others.

Yes you can go back to stock with the RUU
Dont trust them iphoneys ;)
I know you dont want to root the hard way but i advise you to consider it, you may have no problems with unrevoked at all...or have some serious ones. Just research it and make your desicion...
Why did you download rom manager if your not root yet lol?

To be honest I was bored, I downloaded the Rom manager and then decided to wait to pull the trigger.

I am going to research a little more.

I used unrevoked thinking it was just easier. I had some major issues after that. I would suggest doing it the 'hard' way.

I have heard unrevoked is sketchy as well.

i would agree to learn to do it the "hard" way its not really that hard. i have unrooted my evo to take in to have repairs done and have had no problems from sprint( this is the first phone i have rooted) and have rooted it again after repairs. after you do that then move on to custom roms, themes, boot animations, etc....

Don't ever toy with those "one click root" methods. When you do it the "long" way... it's so much less troublesome to mess around with different ROMs, hacks, kernels... etc. And flashing back to true stock (unroot) is as easy as using an RUU.

I'm rather doubtful that you "really" searched that hard... :p

If you take a look at the stickies in this forum, you'll see a posts on rooting and unrooting. I think for the general questions you have, they can be addressed there. Let us know if you have any more specific questions.

First off ur friend is an idiot... and if you listen to his advise ur also an idiot...

If you decide to use that 1 click method I will call you an idiot when you

1) can't get it to work

2) jack up ur phone because u didnt know what to do

Follow the Sticky on "Properly" Rooting ur phone

Its not Hard people so Stop calling it the "Hard" way -___-

And don't give me that krap that its prob not hard for me bla bla bla

In All honesty the new rooting methods are much much much easier then what I went thru on June 5th 2010

There weren't easy ways of flashing H-Boots and krap

If I wanted ENG-HBOOT

I had to Hope and Pray it stuck when I Flashed PC36IMG's

The Directions are Simple If you know how to Copy and Paste ull be fine

I Thanked Certain people in this thread because you said and did the right thing...
Continue the trend and you will be a good source for people on here...
Except igotsanevo4g he's an idiot -___-

One click roots are fine....Pshhhh, just do some research and be prepared to flash an sbf (worst case scenario) Just have RSD ready to go and proper drivers installed and the correct sbf files. If a one click root fails, sbf it. Much easier than the "hard" way ha ha ha~!

Intelligent posts just like I thought would happen...

No one wants to get there hands dirty anymore...

Its a wonder how many of "These" Posts are popping up and you wonder which is really the hard way...

MissJenell would you like to Comment on that?

considering you have done both at this point

I had a week of straight trying to fix my effed up phone because of one click roots. I was doing everything right. (yes I know what I am doing) and it was 'successful'. Yeah right. Any time I wanted to do something like flash a rom it would kill my phone. And it would take a lot to bring it back. I finally unrooted my phone and did it again a different way and I have not had problems since.

Precisely. And, like d3xn2o, I rooted the first week I had my EVO (got it the day after launch), and the method was kind of odd... flashing the PC36IMG.zip files with the bootloader and what not (much MUCH different from when I rooted my Hero). Still though, I'm not all that comfortable with linux commands, and I was still easily able to root. Why? Because I took the time to follow directions (a lost art these days it seems)

At the end of the day, it all boils down to quality vs. quantity. Just because you can save all this time rooting your android device via "One-Click", doesn't mean it's a quality method. Potentially bricking a device you spend a good amount of money on is just not worth it.

i +1 you as well, someone took their time to write out step by step instructions for the adb way(hard way ) read the whole thing once, then do it again then you should be ready to root:cool::D
