Questions about 45W Charger

All you with the fancy schmancy 45w chargers and I'm going to buck the trend and use this 35w charger that I got when I got my ZF3. I never opened this so I hope it works.

This is a stupid question, but this WILL work with the S22 Ultra right? I mean, it'll be faster than 25w but not as fast as 45w? That said, 25w has been plenty enough for me but this is just otherwise catching dust. lol

Yes any charger 15w/25w/35w/45w will work and determine the speed it charges at

I just use various Samsung Desktop Wireless chargers and pads with built in fans that also have fast charging options.

However I typically charge overnight with the phone powered down.

I've not really had the need to use fast charging.

That said I'm looking forward to your findings when your charging your phone's with these various charging bricks and cables.

I'm reading that the NEW 45 watt charger can charge the phone from 0 to 100 in about 55 minutes. More importantly it does its best/fastest charging from 30% to around 75%. For me, every minute counts, so I invested in two new 45 watt chargers for my S22 Ultra.

Anyone know of a good 30-45w Usb-C car charger that doesnt have some type of light (either port or a little led)?

My car is a older Ford and the port is always on. I have a 30W Aukey one but I need to remove it each time...ive forgotten to unplug it a few times.

All:

please kindly note that the 45-watt fast charger from the S20 Ultra days have a different part number than this current 45-watt fast charger.

it is not possible to see what differences there are because Samsung doesn't give details in its product listing on samsung.com! very strange.

suffice it to say, they can't be identical since they have different product numbers.

i still have my two 45-watt chargers from the S20 Ultra days but with my $200 accessories freebie, i bought the new 45-watt charger anyway in order to ensure that everything will go well without issues.

look forward to learning from others what difference(s) there might be between those two 45-watt chargers! thanks.

Part numbers may or may not mean anything. Generally speaking a new part number means there was a design change. But that may not affect functionality. It could be as simple as a new IC part or parts inside the charger. It will be interesting to see some comparisons to the older charger though.

Here's my test results from the 25w fast charger, the 2019 45w fast charger & the brand new 2022 45w fast charger. If you already have the 25w don't waste your money, literally only saves you 5-10 mins. I don't understand how Samsung is getting away with this blatant false advertisement.

But how can you tell if cables purchased online are "quality thicker cables"?

Buying from a reputable brand would to me be the most obvious. Especially cables that are advertised as braided, reinforced etc.

However, the most important thing you need to know when buying a usb-c cable is the correct amp rating. You need to know the amp draw from the charger you are using, and you need to know that your usb-c cable matches or exceeds it.

For example, the Samsung 25W fast charger is a maximum 3 amp charger. Therefore you need to get a usb-c cable that has at least a 3 amp rating. The 45W charger has a 5 amp rating and needs a usb-c cable of at least 5 amps.

If you are buying a usb-c cable, the amp rating needs to be clearly stated. If it isn't, don't buy it. If you buy a usb-c 3 amp cable and pair it with a 45W charger, you won't get the maximum fast charging.

If you go the other way and buy a 5 amp usb-c cable and pair it with a 25W charger, you'll get the full fast charging, you'll just have paid more than you need.
