I just order s8+ black AT&T and schedule to pick up at my local Best buy today but I have some question.

1. Do I need to do factory reset before I put my sim card in?
2. How do I spot that I have a red tint screen?
3. At Best buy .. Can I just pick up the phone or they need to activate for me?

Thanks.

Hi there,

1) You don't NEED to, but it's recommended.
2) You'll know. It just looks red when it should look white.
3) Don't know about this one, but you should be able to just pick it up and insert your SIM wherever you want (I actually recommend doing this where there's WiFi available unless you have an unlimited plan if you're going to 'restore' your apps with Google's account... which only ends up automatically re-downloading the apps for you). Whether or not BBuy will 'let' you walk away with the phone or will insist on activating it for you, I don't know. But you shouldn't have to.

I don't Factory Reset a new phone. I only System Cache and or Factory Reset if I have a valid reason to.

You'll know by looking at something with a white background such as Settings.

I'm in the U.K so I can't answer that question.

Problem is most 'new' phones are not actually new. Most have already been used for Quality Control either at the factory and further down the chain if it's a carrier-branded model.

Again, not a big deal as these tests don't do much to your phone, but it's always nice to just start with a clean slate.

I always open Google homepage, zoom it to max and all screen is white and u can see if it pinkish

I always skip everything the first time, check if there is an OS update (that there is one for it) and then after it updates do a Factory reset via recovery Mode and then I complete the Initial Setup for the first time. May be just by pure luck but I've never had a problem of any kind with any of my Android phones.

The simplest thing to do is just get the phone from Best Buy and leave. Then pop the sim from your old phone into the S8. Then turn on the S8 and set it up. It will recognize your number immediately.

This presumes that you have the right sized sim card and that you're using the same carrier as the old phone.
