quick App store question

Our family has been big on Monopoly recently. Long story short...my wife can download Monopoly by electronic arts on her Galaxy S7 whereas on my G6 it doesn't even appear on the app store. What gives??? Same Android version, same Kernal etc... Only thing that's different is the security patch date.

Ok so I found it by looking on Google chrome but when I click on it on it shows me this

Each android device has a "build.prop" which lists various properties about the device such as screen resolutions, sensors that are present, and so on. Each app has certain requirements as to what devices it supports, based on the build.prop values. And yes, if you are using the app on your phone, it completely hides "incompatible" apps.

Normally this would block apps with an incompatible OS version, or missing hardware, something like that. Sometimes, especially with older apps, it might mean they have a problem for whatever reason with certain hardware so they haven't enabled it. It might not like the screen's aspect ratio. It might be a complete oversight. You can try contacting the apps's support and asking them if they plan to make it available for the G6.

If you have some way to get the apk off your wife's phone and move it to yours, you can sideload it. Then you'll find out if it really is incompatible!

I think that this games is for tablets. That's why it can't go on the G6, i tried Heroes of Might and Magic 3 on my G3 and it was aswell incompatible i get the G6 and again same problem. And i was like okay G3 was from 2014 and the G6 is latest flagship, it wasn't until i googled it while i found out that the game is only for tablets. And monopoly aswell needs large screen so...

I'll try sideloading it. just very odd that a see a device so new can't download a simple game

According to the Play Store, that app hasn't been updated since January 2014, so it probably isn't really supported anymore.

i downloaded the apk. had sound issues. I checked my wife's S7 and the sound issues were the same. well that all explains it. no support since 2014 definitely answers the question
