Quick Charger for Vehicle

Can someone recommend a Quick Charger for the Turbo that can be used in a vehicle (12-volt system)?

Amazon. Put car quick charger into the search box. There's at least one full page of them. (I didn't look further when someone else asked the same thing earlier in the week.)

Just buy the one from Verizon, the thing is awesome! Has a one year warranty that they will give you a new one in store if it fails within 12mon

The car charger at Verizon is 5 volts if I'm not mistaken. Normal feed is about 4.3 volts. Don't get a charger that gives a feed higher than stock charging speed. You will ruin the battery. I use the car charger from Verizon and it works great. Of course we all want quick charges, but take my word - a high fed battery will degrade much quicker.

Dude..:verizon has a turbo charger that works with the Turbo. They aren't going to sell a car charger that will ruin their beloved child (Turbo).

No, Verizon won't. But a 3rd party vendor will.

That's what I was thinking too. I heard about the Verizon one in another thread a little bit ago. It appears to be great. I really love the idea of the LED light at the end of the cord. Such a great idea. I think that's the one I'll get. I'm just hoping it doesn't stick too far out from the plug hole on the vehicle. It's makes it difficult to use my cup holder.

I'm confused. So are you saying the Verizon Turbo Car Charger is over volted or not or are you just referring to some 3rd party quick chargers? I'd like to think that Verizon isn't going to sell something that will ruin the device, but what do I know.

I had the exact same question when I first got my Turbo. I went hunting and found the qualcomm site. It lists all chargers, wall and car, that are certified to offer the quick charge to phones with the Snap Dragon processor. Once the pages loads, scroll down to the section titled "Certified Accessories and Power Controllers".

Given I'm working with a budget and that I almost never buy anything that isn't tried and true, I've been researching the PureGear Extreme car charger (from the linked list). From my hunting around, I've read pretty much nothing but positive reviews for this PG Extreme and I plan to get one soon. I also am a bargain hunter (my husband swears I am incapable of buying anything but gasoline without a coupon) and as with most items, it is most expensive on the manufacturer's site. Here is a link to the one I've been watching on eBay. Also, here's a link to one on Amazon, if you prefer to purchase from them. I'll be buying mine soon and hope this info helps you out!

I also checked out the certified chargers at the Qualcomm site and ended up ordering the PowerMod charger. $19.95 from Amazon. 4.5 stars with 74 reviews. It's about $3.50 more than the PureGear but also comes with a USB cable. It should be getting delivered Saturday. I've never even used any car charger with my Turbo yet since the battery is so good, but it will be nice to have a quick charger now just in case.

I bought the Verizon "Turbo" car charger. has a red plug and charges my turbo at the same speed as the Turbo supplied wall wart. Even comes with a tiny LED light on the end with a push button so you can see to plug it in when it is dark. My Turgo recognizes it as a Turbo charger when plugged in.

I'm a little confused. The Verizon website states that standard charging is at 5v and quick charging is at 9v. Are you suggesting to never use a quick charger on a phone designed for it?

One more data point. From my limited research, it appears that the Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0 specifications indicate that a compliant charger will query the phone and put out either 5v (standard) or 9v (quick charge) depending on what the phone is equipped for, so it appears 5v should be standard on all 2.0-compliant chargers.

PS - I have the Verizon car quick charger and I think it's great, especially the little light for plugging in at night.

Call me crazy, but I'm gonna go ahead and take the word of the people who actually designed the technology and poured millions into testing it. They might be a little more of what i like to call "experts" and really know what they're talking about.
