quick question about OTA and rooting

when i was rooted with a custom rom on the thunderbolt, whenever theres an OTA update, it is recommended not to accept cause it can brick the phone. to update i'd simply flash a newer rom update released by the developers. does that apply with the bionic if i'm rooted? since there is no custom roms yet, how do i go about updating if there is an OTA?
