Quick speaker mute

On my 3XL, under Android 11, when I clicked the volume down button once, a little system tray opened up at the right of the screen where I can adjust ringer volume, slide bar for speaker volume, and most importantly, I could tap the musical note, and it would immediately mute.

With Android 12, I'm not seeing that same functionality. It seems the note button is not there, just the slider (as it was in 11). Is that a system functionality change, or a setting I need to turn back on somewhere?

(and yes, I know I can just slide to mute, or press volume down button continuously to mute, but I liked the quick one tap to do it).

Not a direct solution, but one workaround would be to use your Active Edge to silence the phone. Go to Settings>System>Gestures>Active Edge and turn on the toggle for "Squeeze to silence phone".

I never thought of that! Thanks for the suggestion.. I'll give that a try.
