The OTA update adding quickmemo didn't tighten up security or anything right? It the root process described here going to work to root my elite? Also, what is the status on any clockworkmod support or ROMs/kernals? Thanks!

the ota does remove root via patches, but easily regained with this method.http://androidforums.com/elite-all-things-root/591941-click-rooting-your-lg-optimus-elite.html the utility is a bit touchy atleast on OS'es below Vista. On XP youll need to click step 1,wait a second ,close out the click utility, then repeat step 1 before it starts properly and on step 2 once you click it,you'll need to manually start zdiag.exe to proceed because zdiag stalls, step 3 works just fine.

as for custom recovery, its being worked on by drew and maybe other anonymous individuals. roms are in the works, its a matter of the recovery issue being resolved first.

Thanks, I haven't rooted yet, so the update was all normal, but I plan on rooting soon and was wanting to check in on everything. Right now I'm just playing around with a rooted lg optimus v.
