Quickmemo+

On other LG devices (G5, G6) people were eliminating or turning off Quickmemo+ to save battery life.(myself included)

I'm just curious to see if anyone still does this with their V30?

I don't use Quickmemo+ on my V30, but I also don't have it disabled.

For me, I own an LG Android tablet that comes with a stylus and so for me, QM+ has become something of an essential because it's a quick native way to take notes without adding more apps.

Click, write or type and/or post a picture, add to Home, done. When note becomes irrelevant, remove. If there are multiple notes, I can just slide to scroll through them all.

Now that I have a V30 (QM+ is actually a reason I chose LG), it never occurred to me to turn it off because I actually use it.

Then again, after all this time, I never realized it could save that much battery, either!

I have fairly heavy usage on that tablet because I play games a lot on it and so I never figured QM+ used enough battery to warrant disabling. If anything, it's all of my apps and their unneeded background activities that needed throttling.

Is QM+ being disabled because people aren't using it and so it's an unnecessary app or is QM+ a huge battery drain?

I find QM+ a useful app, so I keep it enabled.

I don't see why it would be running when not in use; it is not that kind of app.

I don't think anyone ever explained how or why it was draining their battery. Just that it was on previous model LGs.

It doesn't look like you can disable quickmemo+ without a package disabler app. I could only force stop it using the application manager. It did report it had used 7% battery since last charge. I don't use it, so I don't know why it would use so much battery.

What app are you using that reported it?

I just went into the application manager and selected quickmemo+. battery use is toward the bottom.

Thanks for the instructions!

I did the same and I see what you mean. Unfortunately, I don't think it's 'just' QuickMemo+ that's to blame.

When I checked, I was at 3% (but I also actually use the app and have 2 memos posted on my screens) and then when I went to check other apps and processes, I realized that there were several Android processes running that were all using the same amount of battery. This also includes Google Play and anything related to Google Play.

So now I'm really confused. Is this 3% for just one process? Or is this 3% including every single one of those 3% processes?

I hope I'm making sense.

Incidentally, I discovered that my QM+ app comes with an Uninstall option! Does yours and have you tried it? I'm afraid to test it out because I don't know how easy it will be to get the app back.

Are you having problems running out of battery? For me, battery life is so good, I don't need to worry about any stats. I leave Bluetooth and wireless always on. Don't use any battery saving apps (the ones on the phone or 3rd party apps).

I get what you mean. When you click on the battery % under the QM+ it shows the battery usage for "System". It probably is for multiple services. I do not have the uninstall option, just force stop & disable is greyed out. I'm on verizon, what about you?

I'm on T-Mobile. :)

Under Google Services and Connected apps, I have QM+ listed because it backs up my notes to Google Drive.

Is yours listed there, too?

Not at all - even without Battery Saver! :D

I've got fantastic battery life so I'm not particularly concerned about QM+ using battery.

The fact that it came attached to so many processes was just a little surorising is all!

Yes, it was listed there. I hit disconnect. Hopefully that doesn't mess anything up.

I didn't use QuickMemo+ that much on my LG G3. I'd probably keep it handy if and when I got a newer LG device, however.

Google Keep is good! Yup, that's how I used QuickMemo+. Came in handy for to-do lists and grocery shopping lists.

I have a folder on Keep called "wallet" with images of cards I don't carry everyday. It comes in very handy! I also use it for lists and notes, and to transfer text to and from a workstation.
