Radio Shack Evo trade in

I might be keeping my Evo, and could sure use a spare. Think maybe I'll hang out outside my Radio Shack in the Mall and offer $110 cash for a perfect Evo. Think I'll get any takers? ;)

I just went by and that's 150 of the retail price of 549 unless you magically qualify for the upgrade, which isn't likely because of when the EVO was first launched.

Your unlimited minute guys with the $99 plan are eligible, or folks that would have been eligible and got Sprint to change their upgrade back qualify.

Did anyone else see that Radio Shack is giving $100 in trade for the Evo 4d toward the Evo 3D? I am going to do it. Give them my Evo and pay $99 for a Evo 3D

I traded in my TouchPro 2 and got $50.00 which is $50.00 more than what it is worth to me ;c)

First one in the door today and got a nice 158 dollars trade in for the Evo
and I even got a 10 dollar credit for trading in my palm pre. add that to my 10 dollar coupon and 50 dollar rebate card as well as a htc rubber case and invisible shield and I paid a grand total of 46 dollars which also included radio shack insurance... I got such a sick deal

Radioshack is totally inconsistent, you and I are the lucky ones! They also gave me 158 dollars for the Evo because I asked them about it last night. All the poor walk-ins today got 100 dollars per the promotion.

Lesson learned, always trade in a couple days early to see if you can get a higher value for your phone.

I'm either not understanding something, or this seems like a huge catch.
According to Wikipedia the EVO 4G launced in June of 2010. Which would mean someone who got one at launch would not be elligible for an upgrade, and therefore take advantage of any of these trade in deals until June of 2012.

We got our Evos in Sept 2010 and Radio Shack is saying we won't be elligible for an upgrade until August 2012. New phone = new contract, so wouldn't NOBODY be elligble yet?

Guess you didn't call sprint or have your local radio shack call sprint and ask for a complimentary upgrade huh?! p s you can also ask for 300 more bonus minutes and get it that too

The evo 3d is an amazing device and really what the 4g should have been, everything its tweaked perfectly and the 3d is actually amazing!

I got my 3D wed and shipped my 4G to sprint for $150 trade in. Net cost for the 3D is $50.

Sprint Premiere Gold members are upgraded once a year and also got to order the phone a few days early. So there is no catch, just what your account is rated for.

If you are a Premier Gold customer you can get a full upgrade every year.

Then there are some people on family plans that almost perpetually have a full upgrade floating on the account if they're not gold customers.

I got the $158 today also.

If you are a premier gold and the primary number on the account you are eligible for an upgrade every 12 months and your other lines you are eligible for an upgrade every 22 months. The website below will explain the premier member information and the rewards. Hope this helps. Sprint Premier Gold and Silver

While this is the new system Sprint has implemented its not how many like myself went about things, I being a $69.99/mo plan person and being with Sprint only 6-7yrs could not upgrade every year now like i was able to with the Evo 4g - but a quick call to Sprint by my local RS asking them to do an early upgrade for the 3D was a hassle free and quick "why sure" answer!

So while the above is true from here on in, i believe if you call Sprint and ask for a complimentary upgrade to the 3D you should be granted one - dunno if that will be like this next year but at least it worked this time around, and as i said earlier you also get 300 more minutes added to your account for free!

Not everybody is getting the complementary upgrades though so just know if you try to get a complementary upgrade and you might not be able to get one, but yes more than likely you will be able to get your one time complementary upgrade if you ask.

I paid 38 bucks and got a free otterbox defender case along with it at radio shack... Only cause I knew some1 who works there..

i traded in my shift and got $155 at RS today. Walked out the door paying $8 for my Evo 3D. (with previously purchased $50 gc)

2 years ago I paid $70 for a Pre and a Samsung dual slider thing.

I've bought a new EVO and now an EVO 3D in the last month or so and I won't say what either cost me, net, not with any trades. If I did, some of you might cry. It takes a little work but being in good standing for 16 years does have rewards.

Although, I have increased my monthly bill by $20 which does suck. :)

I'm aware of your "situation". I did the same thing. Except I just changed my number and saved the $20. :)
