Radios?

Hi, are there custom radios for the optimus s? Ones that i could just flash get better segnal like that, without a whole bunch of annoying extra stuff even though that would be ok... Point is im looking for a new radio to flash on my optimus s and cant find one. Sprint has... not the best service...

Nope, it doesn't work like that. Period.

Clarification: Optimus radios can only be flashed by LG's stock recovery. And I believe the radio firmware is also encrypted, so custom radios are not possible at this time.

I have attempted to run LG's recovery from custom recovery but so far my attempts have failed.

No, no such thing as a custom radio. Only ones available are sprint issued. Some people have better luck with ZVD and others with ZVJ........ YMMV.

Only thing you can do is change the PRL's via QPST. You could use a custom PRL that uses Verizon towers but there is a risk if you use to much data! Your only allow 300mb of out-of-network data use before sprint starts to take notice (read the fine print of your contract).
Now I have to admit this as helpped me out! I am using PRL 12124 which works great and gives me 3G roaming speeds via Verizon towers when I am at work. But sprint is also in the process of up grading there towers, and soon should be getting better service once the Vision-Network upgrade is done.

How come there isn't a radios thread in the archives section with all the radios we had and a link to stock recovery
I don't care I'm deactivated
