Radioshack Employee here, taking questions about Pre Order/Buying Process

Yea, once he is done ringing it up, you can go ahead and fire it up. The phone wont complete the auto programming until the port is complete though. It's usually a quick process, but it does sometimes take a while.

Awesome, thanks. hopefully, everything goes smoothly for me.

I'm a fairly new customer to Sprint (3 weeks on June 4), and Sprint said I could change phones within 30 days if I didn't like my current one. I want to preorder at RS, I just want to make sure there won't be a problem since I'm so new. I know I'll have to take care of returning the first phone myself.

Thanks!

If you didn't activate the original phone at RS, it will be difficult for us to get you new customer pricing, since you've already had an active phone on the account. (I'm pretty sure it screws us out of our payout for it as well. So that's not working in your favor lol) Your best bet is to get your EVO where you got the original phone as an exchange.

bp3dots: I read on the other forum you mentioned if we get everything dada family plan, 2 phones are included, but if the 3rd phone doesn't need data, it will just cost $10 instead $19.99? Can you confirm this? I didn't see this mentioned on Sprint website, and just want to clarified.

I know each EVO would be $10 already, just don't want to pay $19.99 if I don't have to on the 3rd non data usage phone.

Each evo requires a data plan. No way around it. If its not a phone that require to use Data then you can add the line to your family plan for just 10 dollars

I had a question reagrding getting the new EVO on a business account with 6 lines. A few of the lines are $150-upgrade eligible. The primary line(mine) is not. I preordered the EVO already from Radio Shack and now I'm wonding how difficult it's going to be to get out of RS with EVO in hand for $199 and get the EVO on my line(eventually)....lol Actually, one of my employees on one of my 6 lines wants my TP2, so is a ESN swap easier than I'm thinking it will be?

Just get the EVO activated on one of the lines that qualifies. You will need a spare phone, once you go home activate the spare phone on the line with the EVO then activate the EVO on your number. ESN swaps are easy and you can do them online. Also, I would not mention anything to Radioshack about swapping phones.

The store you purchased the evo from will get charged back for the subsidy if you switch it before 30 days. So yes, you can do it, but you are also screwing them. :(

Im not in a 4G city, so no. Dunno about Final tho... I do hope we get them when it rolls out here though!

Nope, im in Tampa so no 4g love for me either. :(

But the rumor from my Sprint rep is that tampa will be getting 4g by the end of the summer! (Def keeping my fingers crossed :p)
