The store you purchased the evo from will get charged back for the subsidy if you switch it before 30 days. So yes, you can do it, but you are also screwing them.

Is it possible that I can pre-order over the phone or online because I will not be home when the Evo comes out and would like to get it at the local Radio Shack around where I will be at.

We havent been given a cut off date yet. As of right now its just until we run out of pre orders, and as of yet we havent.

I believe you just have to have the previous month's bill paid. Your upcoming due bill doesn't have to be paid early or anything.

Call your store, it appears it gonna be different everywhere. Bp3dots is opening early but my store isn't for example.

You have to wait 30 days before you can swap phones between lines.
