RadioShack HTC One Deal

I went down to the only One in the area and they knew nothing about preordering the One. Online preorders start tomorrow?

Yeah, I'm a little troubled about this as well... I called three stores. The first knew nothing but took my info down. The second said he wasn't even sure they'd do preorders. The last thought it would be the end of next week.

So do I preorder with Sprint to guarantee getting it & cancel if RS gets their story straight? Does Sprint even let you cancel preorders? With all the news about supply problems, I don't want to miss the boat & my poor 3D is about to give up the ghost.

OK, so I decided to play it really safe & pre-ordered with Sprint telesales. One of the reps I spoke with said that they were already getting warnings on this phone which (she assumed) meant that the stock was running low. She also said interest in the phone had knocked out the sprint order website.

Anyway, for the privilege of ordering directly from Sprint, they are charging me $12 for shipping. I am definitely canceling my Sprint order if I can get a definite YES from RS on them getting the device in stock.

Yeah couldn't find any info with the radio shack promo, so I pre ordered mine once it became available online throgh Sprint. Shipping was free for me, I did get an email from htc this morning stating that if I did the pre order with them they would give me a free case. They gave me a coupon code to use, if any one wants it let me know I will forward it to you.

Wow so then the radio shack deal was a ploy, and now for anyone looking to get the phone through sprint really has no benefits doing it through sprint corp, bb, or radio shack. I guess maybe ill just do the preorder through sprint and get it a day early as a benefit

No its not a ploy. I just went into a radio shack, the deal is real.....just not officially announced yet.

The guy at my local radio shack wrote down my name and number and said he would call me when the deal went live.........not sure if he actually will but I'm always pessimistic lol. Shouldn't be long now.

I would guess the deal will come out Sunday with the weekly circular. That's what the photo online seems to be from.

I don't see this on RS's weekly ad on their website. I haven't gotten to go by the store yet but I'm starting to doubt this deal.

So I too went to my Radio Shack and had similar experiences to everyone else. None of the reps knew what I was talking about, they tried to give me a One X insisting it's what I'm looking for, and took down my name and number to let me know if they find anything out. This is definitely the best offer I've seen and I really hope it turns out to be true.

EDIT: Just checked out the weekly ad online and it seems they cycle their ads every two weeks. The current ad states offers valid 03/31 - 04/13, so looks like a week from today we'll see a new ad with hopefully an HTC One offer.

That would leave only 5 days of pre orders with that deal then....I'm about ready to just pre order online from Sprint.

Wow, that didn't even cross my mind. Well, I think I'll give it a couple days just to see if maybe they find something out (who knows, maybe they can do the preorder ahead of the advertisement once they find out) but otherwise I'll just be ordering my 64GB from AT&T. At least I should (hopefully) still get my Media Link.

If your tired of waiting preorder at wirefly instead of Sprint, that's what I did. $119 instead of $199, free standard shipping and no tax! (to CA at least)

Don't they have an extended period of time where you can't swap another phone onto that line without owing more money?

Yup and if you are on a non advertised plan IE a Simply Everything Referral Plan you will lose it.

I don't understand all the details (hence why I'm staying clear of it) but it's something about a penalty that you owe Wirefly if you don't keep that phone active on that line for x months.
Even with a new phone, I've had the need to swap phones for a short period of time so I don't want to have to worry about that.
