Does anyone know why Google doesn't have this on the Pixel? Are there any planned software updates that will include it?

you can take a look at this...https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/phone-by-google/iRkLY2BoJlw;context-place=topicsearchin/phone-by-google/raise$20to$20wake$20pixel

Based on the discussion here, no one from google has acknowledged that this is something they are working on

Using Ambi-Turner. Great app, IMO.

Didn't think this app would have such a positive impact on usability/accessibility for me, but it does.

Worked for me for about an hour, I decided to buy the PRO version with the In-App purchase, set up the additional features available on the PRO version and minutes after that it never worked again, nothing not even the Standard features in the free version, ClearedCache and Data, Uninstalled and re-installed and nothing, I sent an email to the developer but after a day waiting for a reply I asked Google for a refund and was immediately approved and refunded, then the next day I received an email from the developer saying that he was still working on some bugs and that a new version will come soon.

So, will try it again after I see the new version released.

Can anyone speak to either app having a negative affect on the battery or is it a non issue?

I've found no issue with gravity. It works perfect, when I flip the phone over or pick it up it goes right to the notifications. Or on the nightstand I just wave my hand over the proximity sensor

Hopefully they never add that horrible feature back in. I love that I can get ambient notifications without the annoying screen on by tipping it.

I have been using the gravity app, and have not noticed a significant battery usage. A little, but I like it so much that I honestly wouldn't care if it had more drain on the battery. The Pixel charges so fast it makes it a non issue for me.

My thoughs exactly - BUT - I'd love to see it built into the OS - the less I have to add to the phone the better I like it.
