Ram inconsistency

The box and everything I have read, as I'm sure goes for all of you, states 2 gb of ram. However, according to geek bench 2 and cpu-z both show 1.5 gb. Also., under settings-about my phone, hardware, it states 1.5, as well. What gives?

Edit: my mistake, "About phone" does does state 2 gb.

It usually says 1.5 gb's of ram due to the android system using a good portion of your ram at all times.
