Re: Random audio files playing on android phone.
I have searched all over for persons with similar experiences. Several days ago, my LGV10 started randomly playing pieces of a tune. Sometimes this would last a few seconds, sometimes as long as twenty seconds. Then it started playing a recording (not one I ever made) of a man's voice saying "Cios play a critical role in keeping a company competitive" - - sometimes playing half a second, sometimes a few seconds, the whole phrase, and then, suddenly, several more sentences of the diatribe.
Between these events, I, like all of you, uninstalled app after app. I downloaded an ran virus scanners and cleaners. I went through every app removing permissions. But nothing worked. Then I decided to give up for the night, and put my phone down. Our restless (what other kind is there) border collie came through several times, tormenting one of the cats. I bellowed "Libby! That's quite enough. Go to bed!". Then my phone piped up "Hello?", with a response from the other party "Oh hi! This is so-and-so from..."
It was MY voice, answering the phone.
I was really freaked out. I have no phone call recording apps. I've never recorded a phone call. I recognized the short snippet that played as a return call from a local heating and cooling firm I'd arranged an appointment with a week previous.
I don't know WTF is going on. I reset the phone to factory defaults, and lost a lot of stuff. The idea that my phone calls are being recorded and possibly uploaded to who knows is unsettling. I've heard some political spying involved just this sort of scenario, where apps were somehow given use of the microphone by the user, which is possible. I'm about as far from a conspiracy theorist as one can get, but I suppose I can see now how some people can get freaked out because they don't understand something and grasp at straws.
However, I'd sure like to know WTF is going on.
