Random Google Messages since Nov Update

Not sure if related to Nov update or not. Occassionally i will open messages app and see my threads. If I click on a thread screen turns black. There will be a notification in panel that messages is working. I have to force quit app then all good. Not sure if messages or last update...any one else?

Have you already tried clearing the app cache for the Messages app? Also try wiping the cache partition: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-note-20/wipe-cache/

If we are referring to the Samsung native message app doesn't it only repopulate is you have the back-up to Samsung drive for messages active? I believe if you don't and clear the data and cache you loose all your messages.

No. Clearing app data in the messages app does not delete the messages. They will repopulate.

There's a separate Phone and Messaging Storage system app, which is where the actual messages are stored, I believe.

I've always tested this with all back up on and clearing Data always repopulate even switching to a new message app not sure if google and samsung back off will do the same
