Random No Sim issue

Got my 5x today, used it for a couple of hours no problem. Now all of a sudden it shows No sim, and then seems to recognize the sim randomly now.The sim works fine no problem in my Iphone 6s. Any thoughts ? Did I get a defective phone ?

I actually just got my 5x 2 days ago and it has not recognized the Fi SIM or the AT&T SIM that I tried with it even once. It's literally a paperweight while I wait for Google to figure out if I should send it back or not.

Got the device 8 hours ago. No sim popped up 3 times...

Its a T-mobile sim, if that matters

Possible. It happens in mass manufacturing.

Test another SIM if you can. If that doesn't work as well, the you might have a bad SIM slot and you should exchange your device before the window of opportunity closes (14 days I think).
