My phone keeps vibrating and making notification noises, but there is no visible notification. No notification counters, nothing? How do I figure out why it is doing this?

Nothing shows up in the window shade drop down, you must have some items set to not activate the screen

Is Bluetooth on? If so, try turning it off. Did it work? Most likely something (either a previously paired device that is no longer paired or a new device just trying to apir) is trying to connect to your phone.

I have changed some settings and still am getting these ghost notifications. It just started in the past 24 hours. There are no notifications in the drop down window or on lockscreen when it happens. Turned off NFC, stopped the alerts when WiFi is available, my Bluetooth is on and paired with my Fitbit. I am so annoyed.

Turn off BT. If you changed settings maybe some BT devices are trying to connect. That's the number 1 reason why phones go into 'seizure' mode. Changing the BT name of the device should also help.

Same thing here. I called AT&T and found that it's actually text messages that are not being made fully into my inbox. I downloaded ghostly SMS and it shows the missing texts when they come through. I'm now using Textra instead of stock messaging to see if that will help.
