Random phone reboot?

If you mean when I'm in the recovery screen, it is blue.
Not red.

Flash this file CWM-ALL through ODIN, should take 7 seconds. When done, put battery back in but don't power up phone. Hold volume up, volume down, and power buttons until samsung logo flashes twice across the screen. As soon as you see samsung for the second time, let go of all three buttons. You will be in red cwm-all. Click on the link in my signature (the blue script down below after "Need step by step instructions....) Follow the instructions in DroidXcon's on how to flash a zip file through cwm.

So my phone was also having random reboot issues so I followed the instructions to flash the 2.9.1 zip. While doing this, I realized that I never went into CWM when updating to froyo. I never did anything with the update.zip that I put on my sd card. Was I supposed to?

If you used DroidXcon's ODIN package to update to Froyo, you would have put update.zip on your sd card. Now that you are on 2.9 you don't need update.zip. The red cwm-all will just ignore update.zip and skip right past it. You should boot directly to red cwm-all. You can leave update.zip where it is if you want, it will not harm anything.

Okay. So I've downloaded the file. The I right clicked on it to extract it "here" and now it's a .bin file. Is this the file I run through odin?

Nope. don't extract the file. download it and run it through ODIN as is, as a tar file.

I don't see anything that says .tar, so I'm a little nervous... is it the file that says cwm-recovery-ALL ... looks like a little stack of books

It's a tar file. Listen to me now and trust me later.

Okay. Yet again I owe you my thanks :)

I think that next time around I'll be able to do it without taking a simple set of instructions and turning into a 4 page thread!

Seriously though, thanks!!
