Random rebooting

With the unavailable option of "clear cache partition ", try using Ccleaner to clear the cache. It's not perfect but works reasonably well for me. It's better than the laborious task of going through all your individual apps.

I've also had the occasional lock up/reboot scenario on my 7.1 but it's only ever happened when playing one particular game or sometimes in the AC app.

Clearing the cache for those apps always fixes the issue.

Not sure if it was the SD card but so far it's better.

Haven't put it thru much yet though.

Hasn't rebooted yet but it's still feeling very warm to hot.

Don't know if a factory reset would do anything or not. GSam says it's 104° after just using Tapatalk

See in settings - battery - 'View detailed usage' which apps are high on that list. Also, tap the three dots top right on that screen and select 'Show full device usage'.

Nothing looks bad.

Your killing the battery and the phone...
It do this in safe mode?
If it's a 3rd party app give it das boot... Or tone it down.

Don't know about safe mode. Can't do anything in safe mode that I do out of safe mode, no internet in safe mode.

Haven't installed anything new besides GSam yesterday after I already had the issue.

Was on chat with Nokia. Gave me the same suggestions I've already tried. I did clear data along with cache this time.

With just chrome and tapatalk open and switching back and forth temp has already gone up to 104°

Safe mode narrows it down to a 3rd party apk.
You're desperate, right?
You should still have phone, text and maybe the factory default browser in Safe Mode.
I very rarely use it, but it's there just for things like this.
Probably isn't hardware... yet.

Something is running in the background (not sure why it’s not showing in your battery stats). You have a gremlin.

Clear the caches of both, check all settings, reboot into the boot menu and wipe the system cache, reboot.
If still doing clear out data in both apps, reboot.
If still doing it uninstall and/or reset both apps to factory load.
Repeat the system cache wipe.

It's easier to get rid of a buggy 3rd party app if that's the cause...
I find misbehaving downloaded apks and ditch them fast or at least disable them if I want to play with latter.

I think it's tapatalk, with it and chrome open temp was 104. Closed tapatalk and had chrome, Amazon and Google keep open temp dropped to 100.

Hate to do a factory reset but may be what I need to do.

In the little while I've had tapatalk open its back up to 102°. Must be my gremlin.

Are you using Tapatalk for other forums or only for this one?

Go to Settings>Developer Options*> Running Services
Punch on the likely suspect and stop the service.
See if that gets it.

*you need to enable this option first before it's visible in settings, goggle it.

Anything look suspicious? Don't have a clue why retail demo app would be running?
