Randomly asking for my password

Over the past few weeks, I'll go to use my v30 and it will ask me to sign in with my password. Anyone else having this issue? It may have started with the Oreo update, but not sure. The phone is not rebooting.

It might be an Oreo thing? Samsung phones with Oreo or updated to it also do this at seemingly random times "for your security" (asks for pin/password instead of biometrics even if not rebooted).

There's no fix. It's being touted as a security feature, so at best, it might be removed in future versions, but it's not a bug, so no fix is in the works.

What sucks is, I was walking yesterday had bags in 1 hand, V30 in the other. I tried to make a call and couldn't. I had to stop, put everything down and unlock my phone with the damn password. And mine is long.

Yeah, for me it seems to happen a lot right after I use a Smart Lock (like my car's radio or a watch). And yeah, it does suck when it happens because you just want it to open quick.
