Rant about SPECS!!!

You mean other than being faster (opening apps, searching, traversing the ui), smoother and much more battery efficient, while at the same time providing more features for general use and a better software experience?

Nexus. Through spacetime.

No, I didn't mean that. It doesn't do any of those things faster than the HTC one or Galaxy s4. I mean really? The s4 rocks a processor clocked at 1.9 ghz. The Moto can't compete with that power. Yes, the moto x has a high clock but the Galaxy s4 is higher. I've used the moto x and a updated galaxy s4 side by side, the Galaxy s4 did better

X8 doesn't mean anything. It's just marketing jargon to make it sound new and exciting. The graphics they showed were also false advertising

Dude, it's all marketting Jargon. You don't explain thing using technical speak, because only we nerds understand it. You are just flat out wrong here. Moto took 1 part, that is less than a year old, added more stuff to it, configured it a new way and improved it.

Here is a news flash, DDR has been around for 6 years. PC people still use it. Why? Because it works, very well. Do we ***** that we are getting 2006 parts? Well, no. Why? because they didn't need to invent the wheel. It's okay to use existing parts, optimize them, and make them sing.

I'm not saying some people didn't give it a good review, I'm saying when it was announced a lot of people (me included) were disappointed

So was Brian. Until he used it for a lengthy period of time (weeks).

Oh. I haven't done a side by side with the one myself, but several videos showed it getting handily beaten. Real world the moto x smoked the s4 in my test, by a lot. Wonder if there were some settings discrepancies or if one or more of the devices we tested were faulty or not in ideal test conditions. I'm not sure what build Jakes s4 is on. Which update? (Honestly not following s4 news, sorry)

It was the latest available for the AT&T edition, I'm not quite sure the exact firmware number. It wasn't substantially faster, but it opened apps and responded faster for me.

I only tested it for a few days, I had it temporarily. It didn't impress me, but it was a good phone. For me, it felt like it lacked features, although I loved the open mic feature

I'm glad they're improving it. My friend's s4 is on us cellular, which is CDMA. I'd be willing to bet he doesn't have the update. I have no problem believing your s4 performs better than his.

Do you mean the guy who copied and pasted a bunch of stuff from Google?

Doesn't mean much. The phone is still running 2012 technology.

None of his long copy pastes erase the fact that the phone has a GPU that was out in 2012. Adreno 320.

Yup that is exactly who I meant. And did not copy anything from Google, Google is a search engine.

At this point you are arguing semantics and you know it. It is clear the SoC is not a 2012 design, so now you are picking components out. Following your logic, and lack of common sense, it would be easy to say the copper that is used for conductivity is from the last century -- it is true but meaningless.

Yeah, it was designed for all of those things like you said. I don't think the tradeoff is worth it, but we all have different opinions. I care about specs more than these things

The trade off is horrible battery life vs not being able to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 4.7" screen.

Maybe because of storage speed?

Nah, that's not the case. You can tell the difference. The battery takes a hit, but it's certainly worth it. People like the s4 screen better usually

Nope.

You haven't read the entire thread.

I believe it was back in page 1 he wrote and I quote

It doesn't have anything from 2012 lol

That's what he said. and THIS IS FALSE.

Not only does it have the Adreno 320 GPU which is from 2012, but if you had bothered to look at the motherboard you would see that the power management is being handled by a Qualcomm PM8921, which is the exact same chip on the ONE S, which came out in 2012.

So, his statement that the MOTO X has, excuse me, "doesn't have anything from 2012" is NOT true.

Then he came back having a total meltdown of copying and pasting from somewhere in Google, which i imagine is Wikipedia because that would be the only place they would know to look for information.

It does have 2012 technology inside. Saying anything else is false.

Imagine the new Intel Haswell had Intel 4000HD graphics. Would you say it is totally new? or would you say it does have technology from 2012?

Come on. He was wrong. Everyone knows it. Move on.

You can't. The S4 is 5". The difference is negligible. with a 2,200mAh battery the phone would be worse than the LG Nexus 4. it would probably die in 2 hours of screen time. You think that's worth it? Are you serious?

have you even SEEN a Moto X in person? I guarantee you won't care about how many PPI it has.

I already said that yes, they reworked last year's S4 Pro and gave it Krait 300 cpu, but it is still the dual core Adreno 320 GPU from last year, only slightly updated.

So his statement is wrong. Then he came back having a total meltdown of copying and pasting from somewhere in Google, which i imagine is Wikipedia because that would be the only place they would know to look for information.

Wow, I wasn't aware that NothingIsTrue and myself were the same person. (this is the second time I've pointed that out to you)

Also, I definitely said what I pasted was from Wikipedia. Way to go on the comprehension of what's been said in this thread, and by who.

Yes I have, and I did care. Side by side, the s4 looks better than the Moto X. And you obviously haven't used the s4 because it doesn't get that bad a battery. Hit the books kid, you need to learn before you can compete. Otherwise it sounds like garbled ranting

Didn't you just tell someone that they need to read the entire thread? I'm going to suggest that you do the same. He already said he used it for a few days.

If we were to make the false assumption that the mobile computing system is modular (meaning that you can pick and choose components and interchange them for performance improvements in various areas, etc), then you'd be correct. Unfortunately, as no less than 4 separate members have tried to impart unto you in this thread, as well as the wealth of information in over, now 50, explanations on this site + the wealth of information available via the internet, which you apparently have access to, this is not how the architecture works. Here is the most simple way to state it: the entire system is uniquely designed as a system. You keep telling people to get educated, etc. but are not willing yourself to attempt to understand concepts that any laymen can grasp with less than 5 minutes of listening to experts.

Wow, I wasn't aware that NothingIsTrue and myself were the same person.

Sorry kid, I wanted someone to break it to you gently.. but that's the way the cookie crumbles. You really should stop talking to me in public. I'm imaginary, and you look crazy.

I am replying to his assertion that it has no technology from 2012. When I said "they" I was referring to you. who butted into the conversation trying to back him up, which makes you look even more stupid.

I guess you got tired of reading stuff from wikipedia. Problem is, I actually looked at the motherboard and the fact is, it HAS 2012 technology inside.

The end.
