And that is what you have to keep in mind - back then, the choices weren't that great.
When I bought my GNex, my choices were the GNex, Razr and the Rezound. There wasn't even a Razr Maxx yet. The Razr had an awful screen and a 1780 mAh non-removable battery. The Rezound was thick, heavy and had a ridiculously reflective glass screen better suited to a mirror than an LCD (which rendered it useless outdoors) and its battery was only 1620 mAh.
absolutely true. my first smartphone was the Eris, and I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I did absolutely no research, and bought it because i saw another guy with it and he talked it up for about ten minutes. for my Tbolt, I did tons of research, and like you said, the choices available were fairly limited, and not time tested either. the Tbolt, IMO, was the best of that group, which isn't saying a whole lot.
I like my rezound, sans the battery life, and I MAY hold on to it a bit longer, just to see what happens to the N2 price when the N3 is announced, which should be near the end of the summer. $149 would be a really sweet price for the N2, so here's crossing my fingers!
