New OTA update has fixed the conflict. Unfortunately you have to turn Bluetooth on manually whenever you turn your phone on.

I can confirm it's fixed for me, too! Very happy about this, as I've been so irritated!! I don't turn my phone off very often, so that's probably not a big deal for me, personally.

It has now been 3 months since the Android 4.4.2 upgrade. I have been fighting the BLE/WIFI issue ever since. Is there a better solution than using 5GHz or not using BLE devices.

Sorry for my late reply. A software update was released to fix the issue.

Turning off my bluetooth completely cured my WiFi issues. Thanks for the reply.

If you install the update it should be fixed.

My history was wiped clean by KitKat. I've tried to pair, but no luck.

In some cases you need to delete the phone from the other bluetooth device's history. Also ensure that you have the device in pairing mode that you are attempting to connect to.

This fix with BLE devices worked with my Droid Maxx as well. Just unistalled the application that interfaced with my Plantronics BT headset. Re-paired using only basic functions.
