Razr Maxx makes PHANTOM CALLS

I have had two consecutive Razr Maxx unitswhich interrupt existing calls to initiate new calls to random address book entries. While the new call is being initiated, the screen is irresponsive and will not "hang up" "merge calls" or even bring up any of the menu control buttons at the very bottom of the screen. This is very embarassing as, in both occasions, this has happened late at night while I was in another call, and the recipient of the phantom call has been only casual acquaintances.

When this happened last night, I got the phone to hang up both calls, by putting it in to low power, only to have it magically re-initiate the phantom call to my acquaintance a second time when I turned the screen back on.

This is highly embarassing. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any app that "locks" an active screen without terminating existing calls?

Unfortunately my Maxx is not a magician like yours. That's pretty freaking sweet! I bet you your Maxx is just trying to help keep you on your toes and assisting you in thinking on the fly.

On a serious note, did you download anything that requested permission to access your dialer or contact lists?

Been having the same issue since the update. For me it seems that the phone doesn't lock when I bring it to my face. But yeah... As I'm on the phone all of a sudden it starts dialing and nothing I can do to stop it.

one of two things, you have a rouge app, or the screen sensor isnt working properly. i know you dont want to, but id do a factory reset. when you call verizon to get them to trouble shoot it, they are going to tell you to do the very same thing. if that doesnt work, time for a refurb
