Anyone get the RCS chat feature on their note yet? I know there is a way that's on you tube but want to know if Samsung released it yet.

My unlocked note 10+ on Att got RCS in Google messege app without the hack

Unlocked N10+, Verizon, Google Messages = RCS for me. No dice with the Samsung texting app tho.

Not yet for my unlocked Note 10 plus on T-Mobile. Although only it appeared briefly then disappeared hours later went I checked again

As to my understanding, as long as you have an Android phone with Android messages on it, RCS should work.

Can the carriers disable it? Like others on here, I had it briefly but then it was gone the next day.

Haha, as luck would have it I just got the notification my chat features are ready to use. TMobile btw

Yes they can. If they did, they'd be violating the Block C spectrum purchase agreement they all made with the FCC and get their peepees smacked.

It's a roll out, which means Google will be turning it on in stages, not all at once. If it turned it on all at once it could bring down its servers.

RCS seems to work in the stock messaging app on ATT. Has since at least last year. Read receipts and all.

Read receipts is not necessarily an indicator of RCS. I got those with Verizon using Verizon's Message+ app. To be truly RCS compliant, it has to support the universal profile completely. Delivered and read receipts is only one aspect of RCS.

In other words, AT&T, like Verizon, has its own proprietary version of RCS, but because Verizon and AT&T don't fully support the universal profile, it is not cross carrier, so you only get RCS like capabilities when chatting with other AT&T subscribers.
