It shouldn't, but can try see what happens also keep wificalling off for a bit , try just data if it goes through as well wifi

Yeah , both you have to be presitant with , and google supposedly closed the door on doing the backdoor when it first came out .

As long as I can keep sending/receiving messages, no RCS isn't a serious thing to me. I only have one other contact who uses it anyway. But, it should work.

Just FYI I swapped to my Note + it's not on ... I will report back when I'm back on Pixel in a day or so ..
