So I downloaded the Google Messages app, but I see nothing in settings for Chat. I have a Note 10+ on Verizon. Am I missing something? Thanks.
Let us know if you get it working after checking Google Carrier Services as others have suggested. I'm on Verizon and it's working for me with Google Messages. So I downloaded the Google Messages app, but I see nothing in settings for Chat. I have a Note 10+ on Verizon. Am I missing something? Use activity launcher to activate it ,then delete it after it does .I installed Carrier Services, restarted phone, but still no chat feature in settings on Google Messages
I actually did that. I assumed I would have it by now anyway if I had not done that some weeks ago, but who knows. RCS originally popped up all by itself, but then disappeared a short while later. Then I used Activity Launcher and I have had it ever since. I don't think people are suposed to have to resort to that any more. This RSC business seems to be a bit of a mess.Use activity launcher to activate it ,then delete it after it does .
Yeah I agree , I used activity launcher few weeks ago to trigger it , few days ago I get a message after carrier services updated Welcome to new chat features lol ..I already had itI actually did that. That's greatVery strange... I just realized I had some other version of messages. Just installed the one from the Play Store and everything is fixed!
That was me. When I first installed Verizon Messages on my new phone, it was listed as that in the Play store. During the setup, it had a notice about RCS and chat features that you could opt in. Doing that changed it to Messages+.So did an earlier writer say Messages+ from Verizon is RCS capable? That is what I have been using but decided to try out Google message to get the RCs option

You don't need activity launcher. Just install Google Carrier Services and Android Messages.Where do you find activity launcher? Thanks

Compared to Messages+, Google Messages doesn't offer much. Messages+ has Car Mode and Scheduled messages, and Google has... umm... yeah give me a minute... it can send texts. Oh and it sends photos and videos through Google Photos in a way that they can seemingly be viewed in the app. That's kind of RCS-esque.
If you want to try RCS on your Verizon phone, I did this... https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...=RL3c4WkWfxY&usg=AOvVaw3Jwz8ZcKVUb5X4XvoYydxM
