Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

It would probably be about the same depending on whether they decide to drop the hardware buttons or not. If it has hardware buttons then slightly bigger but if it has on screen keys then I don't see any reason why they couldn't fit a 5 inch display in the SGS3 size frame.

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

The SGS3 is about the same size as the One X, which is about the same as the Gnex, which is about the same as the GSII, which is about the same as the Atrix, which is about the same as the Nexus One, which is about the same size as the HTC Hero. So basically, phones are the same size they have always been.

While I do agree with your statement, "about the same size" is not the same as "the same size" We are starting to suffer from "creep" where little by little the phones are getting bigger. I would love to see the approach that moto is taking go across all lines. Keep the size of the SGSIII and go edge to edge. Get rid of the side bezels and there is your .2

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

It was meant to be a "reductio ad absurdum" the idea that the Hero and the GS3 are the same size is preposterous. Everyone pretends like "oh they will just reduce the bezels, it won't be that bad" but in reality you are just tolerating a larger size phone

Most human beings are so much more likely to accept incremental changes rather than drastic ones..Snapple capitalized on this knowledge.

Reductio ad absurdum (Latin: "reduction to absurdity") is a common form of argument which seeks to demonstrate that a statement is true by showing that a false, untenable, or absurd result follows from its denial[1][2], or in turn to demonstrate that a statement is false by showing that a false, untenable, or absurd result follows from its acceptance. First appearing in classical Greek philosophy (the Latin term derives from the Greek ἡ εις άτοπον απαγωγη or hi eis atopon apagogi, "reduction to the impossible"), for example in Aristotle's Prior Analytics[1], this technique has been used throughout history in both formal mathematical and philosophical reasoning, as well as informal debate.
The "absurd" conclusion of a reductio ad absurdam argument can take a range of forms:
Good Example
Rocks have weight, otherwise we would see them floating in the air.
Society must have laws, otherwise there would be chaos.

There is no smallest positive rational number, because if there were, it could be divided by two to get a smaller one.
The first example above argues that the denial of the assertion would have a ridiculous result, against the evidence of our senses. The second argues that the denial would have an untenable result: unacceptable, unworkable or unpleasant for society. The third is a mathematical proof, arguing that the denial of the assertion would result in a contradiction (there is a smallest rational number and yet there is a rational number smaller than it).

Bad Example
The SGS3 is about the same size as the One X, which is about the same as the Gnex, which is about the same as the GSII, which is about the same as the Atrix, which is about the same as the Nexus One, which is about the same size as the HTC Hero. So basically, phones are the same size they have always been.

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

If anyone saw the specs for the HTC One X+ (I have the all mighty Evo and I'm jealous of those specs lol) the next Nexus will be in that ballpark, (likely better) probably 2 gigs ram, 2200 mAh battery or bigger. The One X+ looks like a powerhouse HTC needs and the Nexus will help them get back on the right track.

Idk why people base their opinions on HTC when they had one of their older phones that have zero relevance to their current line up, the One X/EvoLte are every bit as good as the S3, etc. and are better in many other aspects.

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

Obviously but I guess I have to be more specific. How much bigger would the HTC Nexus 5 be compared to the dimensions of S3 or One X or LG Vu besides the screen size?

A bit bigger

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

I'm getting one if the specs are right. Basically I want the HTC One X with these extra features.

1. Smaller than a 5in screen
2. IPS screen like the HTC One X.
3. At least 32 mb on board
4. Removable 2100+ mha battery
5. SD card support

I think this is the perfect phone for most people.

Well it looks like the HTC one x+ is getting close to the specs i want. The non removable battery is still an issue for me, but the increased storage and better power drain of the Tegra 3 could make this phone hard to resist.
