reached 140 the other day

i turned off my laptop the other day and left H.S on, on my V... went to sleep woke up to a phone on fire....






alright there was no fire..... ...



but it did reach 140F.. this was on aosp

now that i have BB it wont go over 110f on the charger.


I dont use HS much since i can do everything on my V but let this be a lesson to you folks...................:'(

Nothing new, well known fact: hotspot tethering generates heat and drains the battery.
 
If you're overclocked, tether, and use GPS it can get even hotter. Tried to kill my old smartphone while on Sprint and it melted the back cover but phone still worked. BTW what app are you using to measure temp?

yeah but 140 is pretty hot ..tough phone i suppose ;)








i use widgetoid and battery minder



btw it hasn t gotten more than 111f now that im on BB plus ocd to 806



I read somewhere that cm7 isnt as efficient at handling wifi

Sounds like the default txpower settings on CM7 might be too high. They can be adjusted, but it's not something the average user should mess with.
