Gentleman, I hit rock bottom with the Nexus. Angry rants, sarcastic comments, trolling Verizon's facebook page, F5ing Droid Life and Android Central into oblivion, you name it.
I realized over the past few days that the Nexus represented everything I wanted a phone to be, not necessarily what it was going to be. The lack of flash, USB mass storage possibly interfering with PDAnet, Verizon tossing in a few of their crapware apps, the volume rocker bug, the large bezels, and certain apps that aren't playing nice with ICS have made me realize that I was hyping this phone in my mind to an obsessive and unhealthy point.
While I have no doubt that this phone will be great, considering the super amoled HD screen and direct Google support as well as dev support, I've talked myself down from the point of anger and obsession over every rumor coming from anonymous "sources" on twitter and decided to purchase a phone I was originally interested in, the Rezound.

If all else fails, I'm giving it to my girlfriend and using her upgrade.

What's up with all of the "if I don't like it, I'll give it to my girlfriend/wife" talk?

What if your girlfriend doesn't want the Rezound? What if she wants the GN too? You guys need to think this kind of stuff out and not just what you want, but also what she might want and how she might FEEL. She may not complain now, but trust me she will remember and you will hear about it at some point. LOL

I just can't go to the Rezound. I'm sure it will be an amazing phone for you since you are coming from an OG Droid (heck my mom is getting my Thunderbolt after having the OG Droid and even it will be an amazing phone for her), but to me it's just too much like my Thunderbolt. It's just big and bulky to me. That really is the major thing that's keeping me from getting the Rezound because I've loved my Thunderbolt, but I'm ready for a change. Sense is getting stale to me and I'm getting tired of carrying a brick.

I concur with this.

Geez man.. glad you realized what the heck you were doing. I'm afraid there's MANY OTHERS just like you following these releases. It's just a damn phone, it's not a life altering purchase or situation.

I lol'd. I'm on a family plan as the main line. My girlfriend had a a Samsung clamshell phone up until last year when I bought her a Dinc. Her mind was pretty much blown, and she still claims it's the best phone ever, seeing as how huge of an upgrade it is over a dumbphone.
The upgrade chain goes me > gf > mom > dad
Currently my dad has my old LG enV 3, so it's not so bad as far as hand me downs go.

I agree the Thunderbolt felt huge, but my OG droid is just as heavy and has a smaller screen. It makes my pants sag, and I'm tired of it. But the problem is exaggerated on the Rezound. It's not as heavy and not as thick, but it is if you compare it to the current 4G phones.
But hell, this is enough of an upgrade to me, I agree on that point as well.
