Really dumb music question

I dont know if its me being unfamiliar with how the samsungs operate or just a mistake. However I cant get any of my google play downloads to save to the device. I was trying to make a ringtone out of a song I downloaded on google play but the music won't show up in the device itself. If anyone could help my dumb *** out that would be greatly appreciated.

By default, "on device" downloads are hidden to keep you from finding them. There are instructions to both find them and force them to save visibly on XDA. Play Music's PC app will let you download mp3s directly.

I use poweramp player. One time on my old phone I was able to play them in poweramp but the file names were all some coded proprietary naming structure.
