Rear camera problem LG G3

So I have recently been having issues with the rear camera on my LG G3. When I launch the camera app or snapchat I only have access to the front facing camera. Sometimes a hard reset fixes the problem but it's not a reliable fix. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Any fixes?

Side note, I recently received the marshmallow update but the problem existed on Lolipop as well

Welcome to Android Central! It's possible that some app that has Camera permissions is causing the glitch. Try uninstalling those apps one by one and see if the problem goes away at some point. Remember that flashlight apps also have Camera permissions, since the LED flash is part of the camera.

I have exactly the same problem you have. My problem started after update for android 6.0.
i sent My G3 2 times for service repair but it arrives with the same issue... works well for a few days and then the problem back again!
Are there more users with this problem?

Same problem here as well! Just started within last week. I've seen this issue on other forums with no solutions.

Hi All,

I've had this same problem now for 6-7 months, and no one seems to know how to fix it. It simply only does selfie mode. I've looked online and tried uninstralling my camera app (it won't let you) and anything else that uses the rear facing camera (ie flashlight, etc). A few months ago it worked for a day but that was it. I really don't want to buy a new phone because of this... Anyone have any updates?

I just started having this problem yesterday. It worked fine for half the day, then snapchat said it couldn't access my camera. I updated snapchat. Suddenly both snapchat and the camera only offered the selfie view, there's not even an area or option to turn the view around. Also the front flash on the camera (a God send) stopped working.
