Rearth Hybrid Fusion Case

Got my case this afternoon. I also have the Google Bumper and a TPU case. I like the feel of it. The Google bumper has the silver rim around it. And though it looks nice it's raised from the case itself ever so slightly. Also I think it makes it a little more slippery. The Rearth is like a flat black with no ring. The buttons work fine for me. I also have a full skin front and back and it does/did have a wet look with the Rearth case on. So I removed the back skin. Problem solved. I think it offers more protection then the bumper and lets the beautiful back shine through

Does everyone use a sp on the back with this case. Kinda thought the case would get rise of the need for one.

If I'd had this case from the start, I'd probably have foregone the SP for the back. But with the OEM bumper, I'd been using the Amazon.com: SPIGEN SGP SGP10086 Steinheil Screen Protector for Nexus 4 - 1 Pack - Retail Packaging - Ultra Crystal Dual: Cell Phones & Accessories. While the front has a gap on the edges due to the rolled sides, the back is edge-to-edge. No issue with the 'wet' look you're speaking of in conjunction with the Fusion (I actually had to press pretty firmly against the back to make it contact the back of the phone, at which point it showed, but immediately vanished once I released pressure).

Got my case today... I like it, I'm not in love with it but its not bad. I have ghost armor on front and back and its giving the sticky wet look in the back and its perfect in the front, does not lift screen protector anywhere...

Got mine. Its acceptable. Not great, not terrible. I like that I can protect the back and still see it, I like that it doesnt add a ton of bulk and still slips in and our of pocket easily. It doesn't exude quality or luxury, but it was only 13 bucks.

As far as the buttons goes...they don't "click' like regular buttons, but they function just the same.

I have had mine for a bit now, enough to give a review and I've to say it's not too bad. I do have a screen protector on the back side and a little "wet spot" shows up, but it's minor enough that I don't see it unless I look for it, so I'll leave the protector on for now. I may switch to skin on the back glass later so I'll see how it goes.

The buttons had *zero* feel to them though. I had to make a slit along the long sides of the buttons (volume and power), and this did increase the button feel a bit.

I'm neither greatly satisfied nor disappointed with the case. It's sort of what I expected after having read all the comments on various forums.

Well, I got my case yesterday, and I love it. I've been going without a case since I got the phone and was nervous every time I took it out of my pocket. True, the buttons don't have any "feel," and they are a little hard to pres now, but what do you expect? For volume, I have a visual indicator, and for power, the screen goes off or comes on. I am careful with my phones. With my Nexus One and Samsung Galaxy Exhibit, I didn't use a case at all. But with this one being all glass, I wanted protection without losing the thin style and the beauty of both the front and back. This case does that. It still slides nicely into and out of my front pocket, even if I'm wearing jeans. It doesn't slide of my lap now when I lay it down for a second. And it raises the back off the table so you can hear the speaker.

I haven't added a front screen protector yet, but I used one from bestskinsever on my N1 and will probably get one for this phone. giddyhillbilly, do you have the regular one or the "bumper optimized" version? I think I'd rather get the larger, regular one if it will work with this case rather than the smaller one "optimized" to be used with the bumper and cases.

I would get a smaller one...I've got a skinomi protector on mine and I'm having issues with the sides lifting...I've got a free protector coming, when it gets here I think I'll try trimming the sides down with a straight edge and an xacto knife....the screen protector and the case just touch enough to cuz issues.

just wanted to add that I got my fusion case in yesterday and noticed the same lack of tactile button feel. The case is ok but at least it may give more protection than the bumper. I like the feel of the bumper better but not the lack of protection.

I tried the slit above and below the button on fusion the case to increase the feel (i used a micro flat head screwdriver) and it helped but not great. Then I folded a piece of paper and put between the case and the N4 and the tactile feel improved by 100%. Those who are timid about poking a hole in the case above and below the button area may want to try the paper trick. Since I did not try the paper first I really don't know if it would help by itself.

cheers

I got the case yesterday. The no-feedback from the buttons is horrible. I can't stand it. I took a scalpel to it and made a few slits to give it some feedback and now it is almost over sensitive. I get the occasional wet spot from the case on the back too. That being said, I'm torn as to whether I want to keep this or get that generic case from Best Buy that is almost the same as the Ringke.

how does this case compare to the ringke slim? i have the slim and like it, but think i may need a little more protection. but not to the point of an otterbox type....

So after a few weeks with this case - I love it! It is slim enough for me and I finally had my first drop of the phone and it survived! I get interested comments about the phone because they can see the fancy backside - lol.

Have no idea what case at BB he's looking at. They have no cases for the nexus 4 on the website, and optimus only has pouches.

I believe he's talking about this one:
Adreama LG Nexus 4 Skin (ADLGNEXUS4TPUPCBLK) - Black/Clear : Other Cellular Cases - Best Buy Canada

It's only sold in Best Buy Canada. Someone posted over on xda that it's actually clear, not frosted like the pic suggests.

I decided to switch to a skin (from dbrand) for the back and now there's no more wet spot. Looks pretty good too IMO:

The picture is false. It's clear, had no nubs at the bottom, and had actual feedback at the buttons. That said, it's still slippery due to the PC back and the bumper Ida's VERY thin.
It's also sold by its sister shop in Canada, and maybe on eBay.

Hi. Here's a picture if the case.

There are no nubs at the bottom. The back is clear. There is feedback for the buttons, but they are not raised off of the tpu rubber. It is difficult to feel when looking for these buttons in your pocket.
