Rearth Hybrid Fusion Case

Ya, that's what I was referring to- that extra 1mm or so of height to prevent a direct collision to the screen. Thanks for that confirmation!

Do note, there is a film on the bottom of the case (wasn't obvious to me)

Thanks for the review! Kind of amusing that the case has its own adhesive film protection to keep the back from getting scratched in shipment

Been switching back and forth between the OEM bumper (LOVE the look and natural feel) and the Poetic Atmosphere (great protection), and while I expect I'll miss the natural feel of the buttons they both provide, I've dealt with that with prior cases on other phones and now anticipate the Fusion will offer the better protection without compromising the handset's design's visibility

Yeah its there but I don't think its as high as the OEM bumper. It wouldn't do anything to protect your screen if you laid it on rough concrete. But it will help on tables and smooth surfaces.

I don't envision any scenario where I would lay my phone on rough pavement, let alone face down. Also, I hate cases with the front edge too high. It messes with edge swipes too much.

Which feels better and slimmer between the Google bumper and Poetic? Just curious.

To me, the Poetic Atmosphere case is slimmer, the OEM bumper feels better. The Poetic seems like it would be offer better protection from a random drop (I think the bumper would do as well on edge impact, but obviously the case adds rear protection should it land flush or on something), which is good as the Atmosphere is a little too smooth for my taste and more prone to slipping.

Same here. Was just letting people know because I know of a few people that set their phones down on anything. I agree with you on the lip part too. On this case it does not interfere with swipes.

Mine just showed up. Works well with my charging orb.
It feels like a plastic cell phone case. But love that it still shows off the back.

For anyone not liking the stiff button feedback, you can help that by getting an exacto knife or razor blade and simply cutting a tiny slash at the button edge side grooves. It really frees up the action.

Pretty sure Im getting this case, its between this and the poetic bumper and skin protectors....I'm assuming a hard case will provide better overall protection against drops and scratches etc?

Anyone that has this, how does it fair with screen protectors? Will it lift them? My generic one like this(frosted back though) does, so that is a no go. Right now I am using the poetic atmosphere and like it but it is a bit slippery for my taste.

No problem at all with my screen protector. And while smooth, it feels less likely to slip from my grasp than the Atmosphere does. Overall I like it tremendously - if it had the 'button-on-button' like the Atmosphere or OEM bumper instead of the cover which loses some of the tactile feel, it'd be the perfect case imo.

I read somewhere that you can cut the surround around the button on the case top and bottom to help improve the button press feel... i wonder if theres any truth to that.

I'm ordering mine right now.

Someone had posted something to that effect in these forums, but I'm not bothered by it that much, and wouldn't want to make such a cut if in time it might spread and lead to the button cover coming off completely - which would leave the actual button recessed a bit much for easy access.

To that point, my favorite case from a style perspective is no case at all, followed by the OEM bumper, followed by the Rearth Fusion, followed by the Atmosphere. But I'm sticking with the Fusion as it offers the highest level of style while meeting the minimum level of protection I'm willing to accept.

Hmmm well I'll wait till mine comes and see how bad it is. I doubt I'll be that picky. I kept going back and forth between a screen and skin protector with bumper, or case and screen protector.

Eventually went with case and SP.

hello guys. i just got my rearth fusion and i think it looks very nice. The only thing I use bestskinsever protector on the back and it gives the sticky wet look in the middle of the back panel when i use it.
I'm planning to hold on to the case anyways and use my other terrapin case until i remove the bestskinsever. Any ideas to get rid of the sticky wet look?

Does everyone use a sp on the back with this case. Kinda thought the case would get rise of the need for one.

I still have the one on that comes with the phone. Figured why not leave it on? I'm thinking it will help with dust and pocket dirt getting trapped in between and potentially scratching the glass.
