I also was just thinking about the same thing. The last leak was the Google Play sighting and am really hoping that means this Thursday will at least announce the phone. Sure it's a really big leap that it will happen, but one can dream. I also was even thinking that the Halloween release date might happen. I am really hoping it's by month's end.
They're not really rumors. Rather it supports all of Sprint's bands, including all three of their LTE bands.

Seriously, there hasn't been an invite or any announcement.
You all need to settle in for a patient wait if you want a Nexus.

The GSM Galaxy Nexus was a nice phone. I bought one from Handtec because I couldn't wait. I ended up with both the CDMA & GSM models and liked the GSM model better. It took Google a long time to start selling the GSM model directly on the play store. I remember they started that sales model by offering the Gnex at a reduced price along with the new Nexus 7.
I like the way they're doing it now but, like many on here hope they have enough stock this time.
i feel like we're at the mercy of one of Google's mathematical computerized algorithms that's dictating every detail of this excruciating launch process. the artificial intelligence algorithm decided X, Y, and Z leaks....and now a silent period for us - all based on collections of data from the internet. we're all just like lab rats in a cage given stimuli to see how we react based on our feedback - and we don't even know it.
Start an internet revolt and spam it with words like "I'm tired of waiting for the Nexus 5 so I just bought a Iphone5s". Maybe we can freak it out
Speculation and rumors are not the same thing. Rumors require you to present your opinion as fact. Speculation is saying "Based on X Y and Z, I think XXX"
The wait is getting quite long, google seems to always do this and as much of a fan that I am their ''launch'' methods really aggravate me. I remember when they were going to release the galaxy nexus they had a big event planned and then canceled it due to respect for the passing of Steve Jobs and then launched it privately. To be frank I also believe that all the leaks are done intentionally by google to steer up talk about their device. Regardless I really want them to announce it already so I can purchase it !
