Reason why ICS update isn't out for GB phones?

apple is suing Samsung over these patents, not Google. I would think that the testing, and bug fixes would be the longer part, aside from working on newer devices. sometimes fixing one bug creates another.

My guess is that once the next OTA comes, you will see announcements from manufacturers start to pour in. I'm thinking that Google wants them to wait until they have a version that irons out that first round of must-do fixes. It doesn't look like they have their reference/baseline version yet.

It's not it, ICS bring ,lot of UI changes so they need to update there UI software with it.

The main reason it's not fully out yet is that every manufacturer has to mod it to fit their devices, then add all their extra stuff, then get it approved by the respective carrier. After all that they can push out the OTA. And they probably make no money at all on the whole process, so it's not top priority.

I was always agreeing with the last two posters. I just think that we're a step behind where they want the process to be. I don't think Google wants manufacturers to skin ICS until they have a solid baseline version and I don't see 4.0.2 as solid enough for everyone to base from. I believe they are doing work, but I don't think they will be allowed to turn in that work until it includes the next round of changes. Think about it. 4.0 was to get the phone built. 4.0.2 was to put out major initial fires. They need one more version to be in any sort of comfort zone.

Then how you explain 4.0 tablets? :p ICS brings Honeycomb to phone form factor and ICS tablets pop up faster since they don't need much changes in to OEM software.

Not to mention 4.0.3 is out for some quite time now with new API level:

Yeah when 4.0.3 came out Google said this was the baseline ICS version.

I decline to explain anything. My imagination is as valid as anyone elses.
How do you explain the lack of ICS on newer devices manufacturers promised it for? Whatever your reply, it comes straight from your imagination. Informed imagining, yes, but imagining just the same.

Ofcorse we all guessing, but not ready OEM software is simply most possible eason, why they would wait to bring all those ICS goodness if stack Android is ready?
