Reboots! Nothing but reboots on GB. HELP!

I run a non-rooted (never has been) Droid X with the official release of Gingerbread. Since I have updated to GB, I experience constant reboots. I've cleared the cash, even done a complete factory reset, still have the reboots. Seems to occur when I sent or receive a text message. The phone will quit responding (if the screen is off, it won't come on), and then I'll get the Droid Eye as the phone reboots.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there anyway to stop it? I'd LOVE to downgrade (if that's possible) back to Froyo.

I have the same problem! I've called 3 times now to VZW and they have sent me a "new" aka refurb DX. Even the DX i got from them reboots! It does run overall better than my last DX, but the rebooting is annoying!

I really think its a overall software problem because I've heard from many DX users with same issues.... Im ditching the DX and getting the Bionic when ever it comes out or Samsung Galaxy S II if it ever hits VZW.

So to answer your question: No, your not alone and there is nothing you can do about it besides root and slap a custom rom on it.

I have the reboot issue, but I also have the "0:00 call time" issue and the "Text Message Not Sent" issue. Music beta randomly quits and Listen will randomly quit on me too. It sucks to be so dependent on a device and have it do such weird things so often. It makes me think Android is a UI that is perpetually in beta...

You can sbf back to Froyo if you so wish. Grab the froyo sbf out of the rooting/roms section and rsd lite 4.9

+1

These are the exact same issues I was having. I finally had enough. My one line was eligible for an upgrade, so I did. My second line was still 9 months from an upgrade, but I spoke to enough supervisors that they sent me a DINC2 to replace my defective X. Of course the X had already been swapped 5 times for other issues....

I loved my X when it was working. I love my DINC2 because it fixed all of the problems I was having with my X. Of course I do miss the extra .3 inches of screen....

Go back...'sbf' a file....do this, do that.... September 7th can't get here fast enough.

Only 6 battery pulls today. Much better than usual. But, I am on vacation so I didn't actually use it today much.

Mine reboots when I listen any type of music be it rdio, google music or google listen. Its so annoying listening to podcasts and them just stopping.

Mine just started having this problem, months after the gingerbread update. But there is no rhyme or reason to its timing, that I can see. Its only done it once in my hand, the rest of the time it happens when I'm not using it. I will look down and see the eye, or hear the sd mount notification from my pocket.

All same issues, stock Gingerbread not rooted. Factory resets and cache wipes dont fix,i've went back to froyo and then did a complete reinstall of gingerbread and that worked for about half a week then the issues started coming back.

Handcent does fix some of the txt not sent issues but the rebooting is irritating..its very random the worst is the 0:00 call time..but a reset of the device fixes that i just do a battery pull for a min and it goes away that happens about twice a week

I had the issue with reboots after taking the OTA gingerbread update on my non rooted X. Came to find out it was the Advanced Task Killer (Froyo) version that was the culprit. Uninstalled it and my phone has never yet rebooted.

If you have Lookout on your phone, try uninstalling it and see how your phone runs. I was having frequent (several times a day) random reboots until I uninstalled Lookout. Now that my X is Lookout free, I haven't had a random reboot in weeks.

My DX is running at an average of 250MB of RAM used with only a small amount left. When I was on froyo it always ran with an average of 100MB used with plenty left over. I have the total bare bones amount of apps. Minimal Widgets. Running very clean and close to stock. No root. No custom roms. My phone is always rebooting and runs slow as hell. I dont understand.
