Received 5.1 Update OTA? Post here!

Nexus 5 (T-Mobile) here, and received the OTA 5.1 update Thurs. evening (3/12). Was working well except having issues now with Textra and pics sent by others showing up as oddly formatted text and app crashing.

Update: Apparently it's a T-Mo issue and not 5.1... just got this from the Textra developer:

"Sorry, but it's actually an issue with T-Mobile sending corrupted MMS (and group messages) causing the issue. T-Mobile have acknowledged the issue and tweeted they are working on a solution. Once they fix it Textra will return to working normally. Hopefully in the next few hours."

Hey all. Got the update here in New England and just downloaded it about an hour ago on my Sprint N6. It's 3:05AM ET.

My phone appears to be zippier than before, which is good. Hopefully I'll see an improvement in battery life, which has been good albeit a little bit less than I had hoped with medium use. Mostly I'm just hoping that the duplicate texts problem has been solved with this update...I was getting hopelessly tired of friends and family screenshotting our message threads from their iPhones and sending it back to me demanding some kind of explanation. I'll save how annoying human beings can be when they get duplicate texts for another conversation...

I got the update couple of days ago, I have a Motorola Unlocked version. Everything looks smoother and definitely crispier on the animations and faster response from many of the OS functions, as well as for some of the apps, one app I noticed that worked better was Instagram(looked pretty buggy-free) , as a professional software engineer I feel that this update should've been the original Lollipop 5.0, I wonder the real reason why it's otherwise, anyways I can see, and feel the difference in the software as well as the camera(thank god), but the battery I am not sure, I can't tell yet, has anyone felt a change in battery life?

Nice to see some reports of the OTA going out. Hopefully it won't be much longer to have a wider release!

Right on about the duplicate texts issue. A couple of my contacts were getting a bit riled up as well.

I cheated and cleared the Google Services Framework. It took about 6 times of doing it, but it worked.

You realize this is a nexus 6 forum?

Isn't it up to Google, not AT&T with a Nexus device?

I have a Nexus 6 I got from Moto, on Verizon network, but I am thinking I will get the update from Google if I am on Wifi. Or do I have this wrong?

Sounds like the usual customer service generalized answer. You would probably be better off calling an AT&T Store and speak with a rep there. I don't believe AT&T has anything to do with Android OS updates as far as Nexus devices are concerned.

Got it! Unlocked UK. Can not see one difference just hoping it fixes the random reboots

Hi everyone, has somebody noticed problems using pin sim at startup? Mine doesn't ask for the pin till I lock the screen and data services are all disabled. With 5.0.1 the phone asked me the sim pin and then the phone pin, now after the first pin for encryption it doesn't ask nothing on boot and shows directly my home. Only after locking it asks for pins. Has anyone noticed the same? Thanx
