Does anyone know much about the phases/timing Google uses when rolling out these updates?

I'm not whining that I don't have 5.1 yet. Just curious

It's casual. The deploy needs about 2 weeks. If I remember the strategy is to serve users in tranches like 1% - 5% -20% - 50% - 100%

I received the 5.1 update through Sprint about 3 days ago. My brother was getting the duplicate texts and he just said they've stopped since the update. I hope that's the end of that problem. Phone seems a little faster & smoother now.

I think you're far from the only one, those things take time. What I read here is that updates are delivered within three weeks but I don't know if that's official or not.

Anyway, still haven't received mine either.

Yeah I still have not received it.... I think they stagger it out to a small group at first and then slowly increase the rate of which they push it out..... I can't remember how long before I got the 5.0.1 update after I got my Nexus 6 back in November.... T-Mobile has been pretty decent with updates...

No worries, I'm in the same boat. My N6 is from Google Play also. I got the 5.0.1 OTA on the first day it was available, now I'm here still waiting for 5.1. Sometimes you're at the front of the line, sometimes not.

Nexus 6 "Google Play" on verizon with cut down sim card, No 5.1 yet, got 5.0.1 out of the box.

Read on how Google updates and the time frames on phandroid I think, says it could take up to Two weeks to get the OTA from Google. My N7 2012 usually gets updates within 3-5 days, once the day after announcement in JB. But all over wifi, not a carrier. Was wondering if I should keep my N6 in wifi more often. I noticed my Rewards has more surveys in wifi mode than my carrier signal when I switch in between. Been getting 2-3 survey's a week since it started and now nothing since I stopped using wifi for the past month.

If you notice any problems after an update try clearing the cache first under settings and storage. If you at still having problems than a factory reset is normally recommended.

I did. Not sure if it was necessary but I tend to believe in it. I don't even restore, I manually rebuild from scratch.

That's good. Trusted Places has been very hit or miss for me. Wonder if that's the case with the other builds though. Suddenly just getting 5.1 isn't enough. We have to hope we win the lottery and get the "best" build? Kind of a mess.
